U-Predict – Predictions 2014 - 12/10/2013

The U-Predict Blogtalk radio show is not like other tarot shows on the Internet. We do not read for callers, we read for society in general. Some listeners may not enjoy the fact that some weeks we end up talking about politics. However, the political discussions are a part of the show because politics at every level (family, office, and government) affect people’s lives on a daily basis.  Because of the dysfunction currently in Washington DC, there was no way that you could have a prediction show for next year without politics being a large part of it. Because of the nature of U-Predict sometimes there is no way of proving our accuracy with actual events. However, in the last three days the predictions made by the reading room for 2014 have already started to unfold.

The reading room included Anita Perez, Jean Maurie Puhlman, Joanne Matthew, and ReeNee Cummins.  We were thrilled to add a new readers to the show – IMDWitch.  Mary Nale and Joanne Matthew had sent in predictions for the new year.

The first question asked of the reading room was “Will the dysfunctionality in the government continue into 2014.”  The answer that we got was to look at the far right agenda as something that is inconsequential.  In fact, the Major Arcana card that accompanied this question was The Moon, the card of deception. Late in the week Speaker of the House John Boehner stated "They're using our members and they're using the American people for their own goals. This is ridiculous."  According to the Huffington Post (and many other news sources) Mr. Speaker was responding to conservative groups that hold sway among Tea Party and extremely conservative members of the House of Representatives.   Boehner went on to say that he felt duped (in fact that was the word IMDWitch used to sum up her reading) by these groups who pushed for a shutdown of the government, and then pulled their support after the action was taken.  Apparently, the Reading Room predicted the tone in Washington DC as we end the year and start a new one!

Since we had started out with politics, and next year is an election year, we decided to ask some election questions. Again, tarot insisted that a lot of the shenanigans that will be a part of the next election cycle are truly inconsequential. Joanne Matthew asked the question about the war on women that is being waged at the state level. The cards came back that both men and women are going to begin feeling and understanding how much these narrow-minded decisions are adversely affecting their families.

We did also ask about potential presidential runs. Even though the presidential election is over two years away, many in the media expect one or more people to declare their run in 2014. The cards defined two people, both men, who will declare. The one man appears very pragmatic with a sincere wish to serve the people. The other will be more dynamic, attract a large following, only to be brought down by his own murky past. As far as women candidates, specifically Hillary Clinton, the cards said that she was still undecided.  She is looking as to whether or not she can move the country forward, or if she would be treated as an oddity, to be ignored, because she is the first woman president.

The Moon card was a theme that was strongly reflected in the reading. First, only three Major Arcana cards were pulled; considering this is a reading for society for the next 12 months, this small a number of Major Arcana cards would indicate that there is a general lack of awareness of what is really going on.

This card was also reflected when we asked about raising the minimum wage. The cards answered that the people who could most influence a raise for many working Americans do not understand and choose not to understand the dire straits in which they are placing their employees.

We asked about the weather in the coming year. Again the cards strongly indicated that people are being duped into disbelieving that the climate is changing and one side effect of the change are mega-storms that will shatter lives. The remedy the tarot offered us for this situation is to look at the reality of it, and prepare to both offer aid to those who need it and to strengthen our own homes to withstand the bad weather. People need to be more vigilant of the weather and have a plan as to how they are going to deal with a mega-storm.

To look at the synchronistic cards in this reading is merely to amplify what has already been stated in this blog. The most synchronistic card was the Four of Cups.  The Four of Cups is the card of dissatisfaction. It definitely sums up the feeling of many people – we seem to be heading in either the wrong direction or worse - no direction at all. If one looks at the imagery on the Four of Cups, one sees an angry man looking down. What he fails to notice is a hand offering yet another cup. This is the sublime meaning of this card; if you are dissatisfied, it’s time to find a new direction.  We need to speak up and out about a new direction, one based on hope and fairness.  The Three of Swords was also in synchronicity. This card, and its meaning of heartache, echoes the sentiment of dissatisfaction for many people. The Two of Pentacles also appeared in synchronicity. However half the time it was reversed, meaning that the communication is not successfully being passed between parties. One side is not listening. The Queen of Cups again was in synchronicity. In the last few weeks as we have asked about the directions our society is are taking, we are seeing a strong role for women, for nurturing, and generally towards taking care of others. The tarot is repeating the call of Pope Francis to help those in need. The final Minor Arcana card in synchronicity is the Six of Wands.  This is a card of victory, a victory that comes about by people pulling together and working together.  This seems to be the important lesson that will be stressed that year – is that we need to work together to take care of one another.

As far as the Major Arcana, we had The Moon which talks about the deception that many people believe to be true.   We had The Chariot which tells us that things are moving quickly; but if we decide to hasten our movements further, the whole thing could come crashing around our years.  And again we had a loving nurturing card in the Empress, which has also been synchronistic across many shows.

So to sum up the predictions:  many people have been lied to by organizations and institutions that do not have the general welfare of the population at heart. Hopefully, in Washington DC we are seeing the start of an awakening that will break the log-jam of dysfunctionality. In some cases, like with climate change, it is more important to be able to provide for and take care of people than to stand and argue as to what the cause is. This is especially true when people refuse to listen. More and more Americans will come to feel the pain of selfishness and self-interest.  People will begin to react, and hopefully this will bring about the change we so desperately need.  So what does 2014 hold for you and yours? Now’s the time to get out your cards sit quietly… and U-Predict!
